DIY: Makeup Setting Spray using Essential Oils

setting spray

I am one that needs a setting spray. If I don’t, my makeup will be completely gone by the end of the day. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to touch up my makeup throughout the day when chasing around 2 small children (if I’m even wearing any makeup those days!). Today I’m not wearing any makeup but still sprayed my face because its so refreshing and makes my skin feel great. I’ve used this setting spray over liquid foundation, BB creams, and powder foundations with awesome success. Guys, I love this stuff. Not only does it keep my makeup in place, my skin loves it. It [my skin] has never looked better.  It hydrates my skin, but keeps my breakouts away. I have extremely sensitive skin. In fact, my skin is so sensitive I’m not able to use most products targeted towards sensitive skin.

What you need:

Directions: Using a funnel, combine all the ingredients in a glass spray bottle***. Cap and gently shake. And just like that, you made your own setting spray.

  • *I recommend using Thayer’s Witch Hazel with Aloe. Aloe is hydrating and soothes the skin.
  • **I use lavender. I just love the smell, I cannot get enough of it, and it’s great for all skin types. Other oils that would be fantastic would be:
    • Aging skin: frankincense
    • Oily skin: tea tree
    • Dry skin: geranium
  • ***Essential oils should always be stored in glass containers. Essential oils are very potent and can deteriorate plastic over time.
